What they said
Kratos reported a strong Q2 2026 with revenue of $458.8M (above guidance) and adjusted EBITDA of $38.2M (above guidance). Organic revenue growth for Q2 was 19.1% (KGS +22%, Unmanned Systems +8.1%). Management raised its full-year 2026 organic revenue growth outlook to approximately 19%–23% and reiterated an expected ~100 bps improvement in adjusted EBITDA margin versus 2025. Bookings and backlog metrics were highlighted (last 12-month bookings $1.99B; book-to-bill 1.3:1; bid/proposal pipeline $15B). Management emphasized scaling and margin leverage in H2 2026 and into 2027 driven by hypersonics, engine production (turbojets and turbofans), Valkyrie production ramp, new awards (Kraken 1/2, Nemesis, directed energy C-UAS ~ $160M initial), and multiple classified/partner programs. Management also noted investments in facilities (hypersonic integration facility, turbojet/turbofan facilities, Anaconda radar facility, Helios arc-jet/laser) timed to contracted work. Cash used in operations was $11M in Q2 due to working capital growth tied to revenue expansion. Management flagged a currency headwind from a stronger Israeli shekel (estimated $5M–$7M for the year) and emphasized supply-chain and program confidentiality constraints tied to several classified awards.
Guidance
Q3 2026 organic revenue growth: approximately 19%–25% sequentially vs Q2. Q4 2026 organic revenue growth: approximately 19%–31% year-over-year. Full year 2026 organic revenue growth increased to approximately 19%–23%. Management expects adjusted EBITDA margins to improve ~100 basis points versus 2025 (full-year target) and for EBITDA margins to continue increasing in H2 2026 and into 2027. Hypersonics: incremental hypersonics revenue expected to increase approximately $20M–$25M in Q3 vs Q2, with another ramp in Q4 (potentially up to ~$30M incremental vs Q2). Engine production (turbojets): orders/components in place to support a minimum of 3,000 engines in 2027 and plans to order components for ~5,000 engines for 2028. Valkyrie production: targeted ~1.5 planes/month in 2027 (≈18/year) and potential higher run rates (35–40/year) depending on configuration/mix. Valkyrie EBITDA margin guidance: domestic 10%–15%; international 15%–20%.
Risks flagged
Currency exposure (strength of Israeli shekel; estimated $5M–$7M FY impact). Dependence on U.S. government funding/timing (possible Q4 Continuing Resolution/CRA and appropriations timing could create uncertainty). Execution and supply-chain risks tied to rapid production scale-ups (engines, Valkyrie, hypersonic motors) despite management reporting strong supplier performance. Program confidentiality and NDA/classified work limit disclosure and may cause lumpy, hard-to-model revenue recognition. Competition and industrial-base risks (need for second sources; competing private companies).
