Last earnings call, Jul 16, 2026 AI summary

What they said
GE Aerospace reported a strong Q2 2026 with double-digit growth across orders, revenue, operating profit, EPS, and free cash flow. Orders rose 17% (both segments up low double-digits), revenue increased 24% (CES +27%, DPT +16%), operating profit grew 18% to $2.7 billion, EPS increased 22% to $2.02, and free cash flow rose 43% to $3 billion with conversion above 140%. Management highlighted robust demand, particularly in commercial services (services orders +22% Q2, +34% H1), an oversubscribed MRO footprint, and backlog of more than $210 billion. Operational improvements driven by the FLIGHT DECK program, supply chain collaboration, and durability kit rollouts (LEAP-1A >40% retrofit; LEAP-1B certified) were emphasized as drivers of time-on-wing improvements and reduced cost of ownership. Management raised full-year 2026 guidance across the board, citing momentum and better-than-expected first-half performance. They acknowledged headwinds: margin pressure from installed engine growth, investments, inflation, LEAP durability work and initial GE9X unit costs (losses expected to peak by 2028), spare parts delinquencies, and ongoing macro uncertainty. Overall tone was confident and constructive with measured caution on timing of durability retrofits and normalization of cash conversion and spare parts ordering.
Guidance
Management raised 2026 guidance across the board. They raised their full-year services growth guidance to the low-20% range and now expect services to be up approximately $5 billion year-over-year (about $1 billion higher than April guide). They also highlighted expected free cash flow conversion above 100% in the back half, continued free cash flow growth with earnings (though conversion should normalize), and that LEAP services margins should be in line with total services by 2028. Management reiterated GE9X losses are expected to peak by 2028.
Risks flagged
Flight 1879 investigation and ongoing safety concerns; LEAP durability issues (ongoing retrofits required, multi-year effort) and spare parts delinquencies; supply-side constraints and oversubscription of shop capacity; initial GE9X unit losses through 2028; macroeconomic uncertainty (dynamic environment) and inflationary headwinds; potential normalization of spare parts ordering and cash conversion.
