Transdigm designs, builds, and supplies a broad range of components used in aircraft, working with customers across the United States and other countries. It has built a name around highly engineered parts that keep planes flying safely, from mechanical systems to cabin fittings, rather than any single flagship product.
The company organizes its work into three areas. One covers power and control equipment such as actuators, pumps, valves, motors, sensors, and cargo-handling gear, sold to engine makers, airlines, defense agencies, and repair shops. Another handles airframe and interior items like latches, seals, cockpit displays, audio and antenna gear, restroom fittings, seating restraints, and insulation, serving airframe builders, cabin integrators, airlines, and maintenance and overhaul businesses. A third, smaller line applies similar engineering outside aviation, supplying items such as ground-vehicle safety harnesses, space actuators, gas turbine valves, refueling equipment for mining and construction machinery, and turbine controls for energy and petrochemical customers.
Transdigm was established in 1993 and is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Its shares are listed on the NYSE under the ticker TDG.
