About Honeywell International

Honeywell International makes hardware and software across aviation, buildings, industrial materials, and worker safety. In aerospace, it builds parts and systems for planes and spacecraft, including power units, avionics, engine controls, navigation and communication equipment, radar, cabin lighting, and wheels and brakes, backed by repair and maintenance services. It is also known for building automation tools, industrial process controls, and protective gear used across warehouses, factories, and worksites.

The company is organized into distinct units. One serves building owners and operators with software and equipment for managing energy use, access control, video surveillance, and fire detection, plus the installation and servicing of these systems. Another supplies manufacturers with automation controls, catalysts, adsorbents, and specialty materials used in products like armor, nylon, chips, and drug packaging, along with lower-impact refrigerants. A further division sells protective clothing, gas detectors, mobile devices, warehouse automation tools, and asset management software to industrial and logistics customers.

Honeywell International was established in 1906 and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. Its shares are listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker HON.

Last earnings call, Jul 23, 2026 AI summary

What they said
Honeywell Technologies Q2 2026 earnings call: Management (CEO Vimal Kapur, CFO Mike Stepniak, and IR Mark Macaluso) reviewed results after Honeywell spun off Aerospace and completed/anticipated portfolio actions (Johnson Matthey Catalyst Technologies acquisition closed July 17; productivity and warehouse divestitures closing early August; Quantinuum and pension income removed). Key results: 4% organic sales growth, 16% organic orders growth, 9% backlog increase, segment margin expanded 100 bps to 19%, segment profit +9%. Building Automation (BA) showed 9% organic growth and strength across regions; Industrial Automation (IA) grew 4% organically, led by solutions and sensing/measurement; Process Automation & Technology (PA&T) declined 1% organically but orders were up 24% driven by process technologies and LNG/catalyst pipeline, with expectation of sharp inflection in H2. Management raised full-year outlook for organic growth, segment margin and adjusted EPS, targeting 4-6% organic growth in H2 and long-term targets including double-digit annual adjusted EPS growth and >90% FCF conversion. Software ARR growth ~15% YTD, Forge platform emphasized. Management highlighted portfolio strength, M&A priorities (IA/sensing, high-growth verticals, tuck-ins), stranded cost reduction progress (~$20M better than Investor Day, ~$60-65M entering 2027), repositioning charges ($100-110M estimate), and catalyst volume/mix variability; Johnson Matthey acquisition at ~13x EBITDA with cost synergies. Risks noted: Middle East disruptions causing modest collection issues and earlier lost revenue in Q1/Q2 but normalization expected; inflation persistent (expected ~4% pricing to cover), commodity/electronics/labor inflation; tough prior-year catalyst shipment comps impacting aftermarket; macro/geopolitical uncertainties. Q&A tone confident and constructive; management expressed optimism and raised guidance, while being cautious on conservatism in guidance and focus on debt reduction in 2026 with M&A more likely in 2027+.
Guidance
Management raised full-year outlook: they now expect 4% to 6% organic growth in the second half of 2026 (H2), raised segment margin and adjusted EPS guidance (exact EPS figure not provided in transcript). They expect software ARR growth ~15% for 2026. Process Automation & Technology expected to inflect sharply in H2 with catalyst shipments increasing (second half catalyst volumes expected to be 25-30% higher than first half). Stranded costs expected to be ~$60-65M entering 2027 (down from prior $85M estimate). Repositioning costs estimated ~$100-110M for the year.
Risks flagged
Mentioned risks: Middle East geopolitical disruption causing collection issues and earlier revenue loss (modest but monitored); persistent inflation (electronics, copper, labor) impacting cost structure; variability in catalyst volumes and aftermarket leading to quarter-to-quarter margin swings; integration risks and uncertainty in realizing M&A synergies (no sales synergies assumed initially); macro/geopolitical uncertainty and the general SEC/future-looking statement risks. Also Johnson Matthey acquisition negotiation implied some price adjustment; potential stranded costs and repositioning-related execution risks.
