On the operational side, Raytheon Australia completed delivery and integration of the NASAMS air defense system for the Australian Army, Pratt & Whitney announced a $25 million engine parts expansion in Poland expected to add over 120 jobs, and Jill Albertelli was named incoming president of Pratt & Whitney effective January 2027.

Earnings are set for 20 October 2026, before the open, 30 days out and thus beyond a typical 20-trading-day hold; the last report on 23 July showed adjusted EPS of $1.89 versus a prior actual of $1.56, with a 9.2% reaction, and backlog reached $289 billion. Seasonality over the next 20 trading days has averaged a 2.7% gain across 5 years, positive in 2 of them. Last earnings call, Jul 23, 2026 AI summary

What they said
RTX reported a strong Q2 2026 with adjusted sales of $24.7 billion (16% organic growth), adjusted EPS of $1.89 (up 21% YoY), segment operating profit up 18%, and free cash flow of $2.9 billion. Backlog reached a record $289 billion (up 22% YoY). Raytheon bookings were robust (nearly $20 billion in awards) including international GEM-T Patriot effectors and AMRAAM; commercial demand remained healthy with significant OE and aftermarket orders, including a 150 A220 order for Pratt. Management raised full-year adjusted sales guidance to $95–96 billion and provided higher segment-level outlooks (Collins and Pratt). Management emphasized strong demand, supply-chain investments, margin expansion, cost-reduction actions at Collins, continued expansion of Pratt aftermarket (GTF) with improving margins, and the potential upside from defense framework agreements—contingent on budget and multiyear funding. The tone was confident and execution-focused, though management noted working-capital timing, supply-chain scaling needs, tariff impacts, and some one-time items (e.g., powder metal-related compensation).
Guidance
Raised full-year adjusted sales outlook to $95.0B–$96.0B (from $92.5B–$93.5B). Collins: adjusted sales expected to grow mid- to high-single digits (adjusted) and high-single to low-double digits organically; operating profit growth expected between $550M and $625M vs. 2025 (up from prior $425M–$525M). Pratt: higher top-line at midpoint (approx. +$900M) driven primarily by aftermarket; Pratt OE outlook revised to low single-digit decline (organic) for the year; GTF aftermarket margins remain in low double-digits with upside expected. Free cash flow: Q2 strong ($2.9B); company adjusted bottom end of FCF range up $250M but did not raise the top end.
Risks flagged
Supply-chain capacity constraints and the need for multiyear visibility for suppliers to ramp; potential working-capital headwinds from inventory build to support higher production; tariff impacts at Collins; managed declines in legacy engine platforms (PW4000) versus growth in newer fleets; powder metal-related compensation (~$150M) and other nonrecurring items; dependency on final defense budget/multiyear appropriations to convert framework agreements into booked work; macro/air-traffic risks acknowledged in opening disclaimer.
