About Gekko

What exactly is Gekko?

Gekko is a research and analytics platform for US stocks and ETFs. It gathers the footprints that institutions, company insiders and politicians leave behind in public filings and market data, then plots them on charts and organises them into feeds, screens and scores. You get the proprietary GekkoIndex™, Gekko Fair Value, a screener, a backtester and a full market analysis toolkit across 5,800+ tickers, all in one dashboard.

Who is it for?

Active swing traders and self-directed investors in US stocks and ETFs who do their own research. If you already use something like TradingView, Finviz or Seeking Alpha and want a smart money view of the market alongside it, Gekko will feel familiar within a few minutes. Most people arrive looking for the best stock analysis tool for a swing trading strategy and stay for the signals they cannot get anywhere else.

What makes it different from other tools?

Two things. First, the chart: insider buys, options flow, politician disclosures, buybacks, volume thrusts and reversals are all drawn on the price itself, dated to when each became public — most platforms leave that data sitting in separate tables. Second, the proprietary layers you cannot get elsewhere: the GekkoIndex™ score and Gekko Fair Value, both calculated in-house and shown on every ticker. It is built by a long-time active trader with a financial industry background, not a data vendor.

Which markets does Gekko cover?

US-listed stocks and ETFs — about 5,800 names, including the major indexes' constituents, the widely traded ETFs and the mid- and small-caps that trade with real volume. Coverage is US-listed only; there is no futures or forex coverage.

Is there anything to install?

No. Gekko is a stock charting app that runs entirely in your browser on any device — sign up and you are looking at charts within seconds. A full walkthrough video is built into the dashboard, and support is a click away if you get stuck.

Is Gekko financial advice?

No. Gekko provides educational research and analytics tools. It describes data — what insiders, funds, politicians and options traders have done, and where a stock sits on Gekko's own measures — and it does not make buy or sell recommendations. Gekko.app is operated by Greenstone Digital Limited (New Zealand), which is not a licensed financial adviser, broker or dealer. The full wording is in the Terms of Service.

The free trial and billing

Do I need a credit card for the trial?

No. Sign up with an email address and you have full access to every feature for 7 days. Nothing is charged, and there is nothing to cancel if you decide not to continue.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing is charged and nothing needs cancelling. Your access pauses until you choose a plan inside Gekko; your watchlists and portfolio are kept, so subscribing later picks up where you left off.

How much is it after the trial?

$99 a month, or $77 a month when you pay yearly ($929 billed once, which saves $259 against twelve monthly payments). Both plans include everything — there are no upgrades or add-ons to buy. The pricing page has the full comparison.

Can I cancel, and are there refunds?

You can cancel in a couple of clicks from your account at any time; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Billing periods are not refunded, which is why the free week comes first — use it to make sure Gekko is right for you before choosing a plan.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly?

Yes, from the billing portal in your account at any time. The change is prorated, so you pay or are credited only the difference for the rest of the current period.

The data, the GekkoIndex and Gekko Fair Value

What is the GekkoIndex™?

Gekko's proprietary 0 to 100 score of the smart money picture on a stock: an estimate of how much institutional buying or selling is behind recent trading. Every reading falls into one of five zones — Selling, Distribution, Neutral, Accumulation and Buying — and the score is recalculated after every US market close for roughly 5,500 liquid US stocks and ETFs. How the score is built is Gekko's own and is not published; the methodology page explains what the zones mean and how to read them.

What is Gekko Fair Value?

A single estimate of what a company's shares are worth, produced by Gekko's proprietary valuation model from the company's fundamentals and how the market prices companies with its profile. It runs again after every close. What matters is the gap: how far the last close sits above or below the estimate, and which way that gap is moving. It is an estimate for research, not a price target or a prediction.

How often does the data update?

Prices, moving averages, the GekkoIndex and Gekko Fair Value update after every US market close, and the GekkoIndex also updates through the trading day inside Gekko. Insider filings, congressional disclosures, unusual options activity, buybacks and fund positions are dated to when each became public. Earnings dates and estimates, analyst ratings and news refresh daily.

Where does the data come from?

Gekko licenses its market data from established providers and reads public filings — Form 4 insider filings, 13F fund filings, congressional disclosures and SEC buyback announcements. Gekko does not publish real-time quotes or whole datasets, and it does not sell data.

What are the free stock pages?

Gekko's stock analysis pages carry, for 500 of the largest US stocks, the GekkoIndex zone and what followed past readings, Gekko Fair Value, a smart money summary, earnings history, analyst consensus, seasonality and the week's headlines — rebuilt after every close, free, no account needed. The charts with every signal plotted, the full feeds, the screener, ideas and alerts are inside Gekko.

Can I set alerts?

Yes. Inside Gekko you can set an alert straight from the chart on a price level, a GekkoIndex reading or a Fair Value premium, and receive it as a notification or an email. Alerts are checked every fifteen minutes through the session.

Affiliates and support

How does the affiliate program work?

Every Gekko account comes with an affiliate link. Share it, and when someone subscribes through it you earn 50% of every payment they make, up to $1,000 per referral, paid monthly by PayPal. The affiliate page has the details.

How do I get help?

Email support@gekko.app — every message is read and typically answered within one business day — or use the AI assistant on the contact page for instant answers. Spotted an error on a stock page? Every page has a "Report an error" link that goes straight to the founder.
