Brunswick designs and builds gear for people who spend time on the water, selling into markets that include the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Canada, and other regions worldwide. Its range covers marine engines, electronic systems, replacement parts, and complete boats, and it has become widely associated with powering and outfitting recreational watercraft rather than just building the hulls themselves.
The business is split into four operating groups. One supplies outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines plus propellers, rigging, and controls to boat manufacturers, marketed under names such as Mercury, Mercury MerCruiser, Mariner, Mercury Racing, Mercury Diesel, Avator, and Fliteboard. A second group sells engine components, electrical items, lubricants, and boat systems to dealers, distributors, aftermarket sellers, and equipment makers under labels including Mercury Precision Parts, Quicksilver, and Seachoice. A third group focuses on electronics and instrumentation, offering sensors, navigation tools, and power equipment to marine, RV, specialty vehicle, and industrial buyers through brands like Lowrance, Simrad, C-MAP, and Mastervolt, among others. The fourth builds finished boats under names such as Sea Ray, Bayliner, Boston Whaler, Lund, Crestliner, Harris, Lowe, Princecraft, Navan, and Thunder Jet, distributed through dealer networks, and it also runs boat club membership and dealer support offerings.
Brunswick traces its founding back to 1845 and keeps its headquarters in Mettawa, Illinois. Its stock trades on the NYSE under the ticker BC.
