Its work centers on belts and hydraulic components used to move motion and fluid through machinery, ranging from drive systems and engine parts to lifting equipment, and it markets all of its output under the Gates brand.
The business runs through two divisions. The Power Transmission unit makes V-belts, CVT belts, Micro-V belts and related parts such as sprockets, pulleys, water pumps and tensioners, along with metal drive parts and kits sold into the automotive aftermarket. The Fluid Power unit produces hoses, tubing, fittings and pre-assembled hydraulic units for stationary and mobile systems. Together these serve construction, agriculture, energy, automotive, transportation, recreational vehicle, consumer product and industrial customers, supplying both original equipment manufacturers and the replacement parts market.
