DocuSign builds software that lets people and organizations sign documents electronically, and it sells this in the United States and other countries. Its main product is an e-signature tool that lets businesses prepare, sign, finalize and manage agreements. Around that core service, it has built out additional tools for handling agreements from start to finish, including contract lifecycle management, AI-based analysis of clauses and legal terms, features built for Salesforce users, tools for comparing and negotiating documents, guided forms for complex paperwork, identity verification, digital certificates, payment collection alongside signatures, and remote online notarization.
DocuSign also builds versions of its platform for particular industries and needs, such as workspaces for real estate brokers and mortgage professionals, a government-authorized edition for U.S. federal agencies, and modules aimed at life sciences companies that must follow industry-specific signature rules. It reaches customers through direct sales staff, partners, and online purchase, and its client base spans large enterprises down to small and commercial businesses.
DocuSign was founded in 2003 and is based in San Francisco, California. Its shares are listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker DOCU.
