About Darling Ingredients

Darling Ingredients turns organic material, both edible and inedible, into ingredients used across a wide range of industries. It takes animal by-products and recycled food waste and reworks them into things like collagen, fats, proteins, pet food components, fertilizer and fuel feedstock, supplying sectors from pharmaceuticals and human food to animal feed, industrial manufacturing and bioenergy. The company is also known for services such as grease trap collection and disposal for restaurants and other food service businesses.

The business is organized around three areas: feed ingredients, food ingredients and fuel ingredients. It sources raw material streams such as used cooking oil, animal fats and bakery leftovers, converting them into higher-value feed and fuel products, and markets its output under a range of brand names spanning collagen, protein, fertilizer and rendering operations. Its customer base spans food, feed, fuel and industrial manufacturing sectors, and it operates across North America, Europe, China, South America, Australia and other regions.

Darling Ingredients traces back to 1882 and operated for many years as Darling International before adopting its current name in 2014. It is headquartered in Irving, Texas, and its shares are listed on the NYSE under the ticker DAR.
