About CEVA

CEVA licenses chip-level technology rather than manufacturing it, supplying semiconductor makers and device manufacturers with designs for wireless connectivity and intelligent sensing. Its portfolio spans digital signal processors, AI accelerators, and wireless platforms that support tasks like image enhancement, machine vision, voice recognition, and sensor data processing. The company is particularly recognized for its DSP-based platforms used in 5G baseband processing across mobile, IoT, and infrastructure systems, as well as its imaging and computer vision tools for camera-equipped devices.

Beyond baseband and vision technology, CEVA supplies low-power audio and speech processing tools, sensor fusion software, and motion-tracking IMU technology aimed at wearables, hearables, AR and VR gear, robotics, and remote controls. It also licenses wireless IoT protocols including Bluetooth, several Wi-Fi standards, ultra-wideband, and narrowband IoT. Clients embed these technologies into custom and standard chips that power products across mobile, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, robotics, and defense markets. The company delivers its cores and platforms as hardware description language files, paired with development kits and debugging tools, and licenses its technology through a direct sales team.

CEVA is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and was incorporated in 1999, having previously operated under the name ParthusCeva before adopting its current name in December 2003. Its shares trade on the NASDAQ under the ticker CEVA.

What they said
CEVA reported a strong Q2 2026 with revenue up 13% year-over-year to $29.0M driven by a 21% increase in licensing and related revenue to $18.2M (its strongest licensing quarter in three years) and a sequential recovery in royalty revenues to $10.8M. Gross margin remained very high (87% GAAP, 88% non-GAAP). Non-GAAP operating income rose to $3.1M (11% margin) from $0.8M a year ago, and GAAP operating loss narrowed to $2.1M. Management highlighted strategic wins including 10 licensing agreements in the quarter and a notable NeuPro-M NPU licensing agreement with a leading global AI and computing platform company. Management emphasized two strategic themes: the migration of compute from cloud to edge, and customers adopting broader hardware+software platform engagements. Management expressed confidence that broader platform deals produce higher upfront licensing and larger future royalty opportunities, and noted tailwinds from competitors’ change in ownership (ARC acquisition by GlobalFoundries). The company raised its full-year outlook (seasonality and second-half strength cited) and expects continued royalty ramps in wireless connectivity, automotive AI, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth HDT over 2026–2028.
Guidance
Company raised full-year guidance (management stated full-year guidance is now raised to 13%–15% growth). They expect stronger seasonality in the second half, market-share gains at certain OEMs, and royalty ramps (including HDT royalties starting late this year with significant ramps in 2027–2028).
Risks flagged
Management cited supply-side constraints (memory shortages) that could affect handset seasonality and volumes, macro and market uncertainties implicit in forward-looking statements, and variability in customer ramp timing which can cause quarter-to-quarter volatility in royalties (e.g., Wi‑Fi shipments). Net financial income was below guidance due to factors affecting financial income.
