Targa Resources heads into its third-quarter results amid a sector-wide pullback in energy midstream names, with shares falling 6.43% on Monday to $294.73 and then another 6.2% to $295.57 as peers Williams Companies, Cheniere Energy and ONEOK also sold off. Analysts are looking for earnings of $2.70 per share on revenue of $4.74 billion, with attention on whether strong Permian Basin activity can offset anticipated weakness in the logistics and transportation business. Some recent commentary has flagged renewed earnings optimism and pointed to a possible undervaluation case following the pullback.
