Last earnings call, Feb 3, 2026 AI summary

What they said
RPC, Inc. Q4 2025 earnings call: Management (Ben Palmer, CEO; Mike Schmit, CFO) reported sequential revenue declines across most service lines with overall Q4 revenues down 5% to $426M. Technical Services comprised 95% of revenue and fell 4%; Support Services down 18%. Key service lines: pressure pumping (27.6%), wireline (24.1%), downhole tools (22.4%). Company expensed wireline cables due to a change in useful life, increasing cost of revenues and reducing capex. Adjusted diluted EPS was $0.04. Management described weakness in December, geographic weakness in international and Rocky Mountain regions, while Southeast and Northeast grew. Thru Tubing Solutions rolling out new A-10 motor and Metal Max power section, gaining share. Management emphasized cost discipline, financial flexibility, selective M&A and tech investment, possible opportunistic buybacks but none committed, and cautious fleet reactivation tied to improved pricing or steady work. Q&A covered weather impacts, competitive dynamics, M&A appetite, wireline accounting change, international exposure, pressure pumping spot market, capex discretion, and rental tool seasonality. No explicit quantitative guidance for Q1 or full-year 2026 provided; management described capex guidance conservatively and subject to change.
Risks flagged
- Weakness in December and in international and Rocky Mountain regions could persist. - Low year-end oil prices (lowest since COVID) may suppress activity until prices rise. - High effective tax rate in quarter due to policy liquidation and nondeductible costs. - Competitive pressure and oversupply in pressure pumping and spot markets; potential fleet idling. - Accounting change on wireline increases cost of revenues and reduces capex, may affect comparability.
