PayPay Corporation operates a digital finance platform used across Japan, built around payment tools and a broader set of financial products. It is best known for the PayPay mobile app, which handles everyday transactions, balance and credit payments, bill and tax settlement, and merchant payment acceptance, making it a widely used tool for both individual consumers and businesses.
The company organizes its work into two segments. The Payment segment covers transaction settlement, along with credit features such as revolving credit, installment plans and short-term cash advances. The Financial Services segment adds online banking, brokerage, point-linked investing, foreign exchange, and loan management, supported by an internal credit engine. It also offers insurance and merchant marketing services, all under the PayPay brand, serving both retail users and business customers throughout Japan.
