Oklo designs and develops small fission reactors intended to supply dependable, low-emission electricity to customers across the United States. Its main product, called the Aurora powerhouse, is built to deliver electrical output somewhere between 15 and 75 megawatts, and this reactor concept forms the core of what the company is recognized for.
In addition to power generation, Oklo is pursuing commercial development of nuclear fuel recycling and fabrication methods that would allow spent fuel to be processed into new fuel for its own reactors, along with efforts to produce radioisotopes. The company has also entered into a partnership with Blykalla AB focused on advancing and commercializing next-generation nuclear reactor technology.
Oklo dates back to 2013 and operates out of Santa Clara, California. Before taking its current name in May 2024, the business was known as AltC Acquisition Corp. Its stock is listed on the NYSE under the ticker OKLO.
