About Genesis Energy

Genesis Energy works in the midstream side of oil and gas, moving crude and natural gas through a network of pipelines, barges, trucks and rail while also storing and blending these products for refiners and producers. The partnership is particularly associated with its sulfur-extraction work for refining customers and its production of natural soda ash, alongside sales of sodium hydrosulfide and caustic soda to industrial buyers, including those in base metal mining.

Its business is split into four areas. One focuses on offshore pipelines that carry crude oil and gas, including maintenance work in deepwater zones of the Gulf of Mexico. A second offers sulfur-removal expertise to a number of refining operations and oversees the storage and movement tied to that work. A third serves Gulf Coast refineries and producers through the buying, hauling, storing and marketing of crude and refined products, relying on terminals, tankage, pipelines and rail unloading sites across several Gulf Coast states. The fourth transports petroleum and crude oil by water using a fleet of barges and towboats. Genesis Energy, LLC acts as the partnership's general partner.

Founded in 1996, Genesis Energy is based in Houston, Texas, and its units are listed on the NYSE under the ticker GEL.
