What they said
Amcor reported solid fiscal 2026 results with Q4 adjusted EPS of $1.23 (up 23% YoY) and full-year adjusted EPS of $4.02 (up 13% YoY). Management highlighted improved safety performance, an inflection to modestly positive volume growth (sequentially +200 bps), and stabilization of the price/cost pass-through ($280M realized in Q4). The integration of Berry is largely behind the company and is beginning to deliver synergies and revenue wins (about $140M of annualized revenue wins to date). The company disclosed a roughly $500M working capital impact related to the Middle East conflict (primarily AR) that it expects to recover over the next 12 months (with some recovery in the first 6 months). Management indicated mid-single-digit EBITDA growth is implied over the near term, capex around 5% of sales, and pathway assumptions toward achieving ~3x leverage by end of Dec 2026. They also provided transition-period EPS expectations and discussed tax, interest, and restructuring dynamics.
Guidance
Transition (6-month) EPS outlook: $1.80 to $1.90. Assumptions: flat to modestly up volumes in transition period; pricing expected to offset inflation (price/cost passthrough). Expect to recover ~$500M working capital over next 12 months (partial recovery in first 6 months: ~$100M–$300M possible). Mid-single-digit EBITDA growth implied into the pathway to 2027; capex roughly 5% of sales; tax assumption ~16% in 1H moving toward ~19% normalized; expected continued synergy capture (includes ~$110M EBIT implied in outlook). Free cash flow pathway: roughly $2.5B over next ~12 months is consistent with management’s pathway assumptions. Integration-related cash costs expected to drop to ~ $50M next period (from higher transaction-related restructuring costs in prior year).
Risks flagged
Middle East conflict impacts and timing of working capital recovery; volatility in raw material/resin and energy prices; timing and realization risk for synergies and cross-sell revenue wins; macroeconomic softness that could affect volume recovery; health care category mix shifts affecting volumes; interest rate and refinancing cost increases; execution risk in integration and conversion of wins to revenue.
