About Powell Industries

Powell Industries designs, builds and services custom electrical equipment used to route, control and protect electrical power. It is best known for its switchgear and related systems, including power control room substations, modular electrical enclosures, medium-voltage circuit breakers, motor control centers, bus duct systems and monitoring equipment, along with both standard and arc-resistant switchgear that runs from 480 volts up to 38,000 volts.

Its equipment is used in heavy industrial settings such as oil and gas refining, onshore and offshore production, petrochemical plants, LNG terminals, pipelines and terminals, mining and metals operations, light rail power systems, electric utilities and pulp and paper facilities. Beyond manufacturing, Powell Industries supports customers with spare parts, field inspections, installation and commissioning, repairs and modifications, retrofit and retrofill work, and replacement circuit breakers for existing switchgear, serving clients across these industrial and utility markets worldwide.

Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Powell Industries operates in locations spanning the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its shares are listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker POWL.
