About Koninklijke Philips

Koninklijke Philips operates in fields tied to medical technology, lighting-related work, and everyday personal wellness products. Much of its recognition comes from equipment, connected devices, and software that help doctors reach accurate diagnoses and carry out less invasive procedures, with applications spanning heart care, vascular treatment, brain-related conditions, surgical settings, and cancer care.

Internally, the business is split into several parts. One centers on diagnostic and treatment technology built around artificial intelligence. Another, Connected Care, brings together monitoring of patients in hospitals along with sleep and breathing therapies and informatics for large organizations. A further division, Personal Health, groups together oral care, personal grooming, and products for mothers and infants. A remaining part handles broader matters such as strategic innovation, licensing income from patents, and shared corporate expenses.

Founded in 1891 by Anton Frederik Philips and Gerard Leonard Frederik Philips, the company keeps its main offices in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. Its stock can be found under the ticker PHG.
