Core Natural Resources mines and sells bituminous coal on a global basis, supplying power plants, industrial buyers, and metallurgical operations. It is best known for the Pennsylvania Mining Complex, which handles the extraction, preparation, and marketing of coal through its Bailey, Enlow Fork, and Harvey mines along with a shared processing facility.

It is also building out the Itmann Mining Complex in Wyoming County, West Virginia, and holds additional undeveloped coal reserves and resources across the Northern Appalachian, Central Appalachian, and Illinois basins.
The company traces its roots back to 1864 and was formerly known as CONSOL Energy Inc. before adopting its current name in January 2025. It is headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker CNR.
