Liberty Broadband operates as a communications business built around two divisions, GCI Holdings and Charter. Through GCI, it supplies wireless, data, video, voice, and managed services across Alaska, reaching households, businesses, government offices, and schools and medical facilities under the GCI name. Its Charter division is known for subscription video offerings such as video on demand, high-definition programming, and digital recording features.
Beyond video, Charter's services extend into voice communications, covering local and long-distance calls, voicemail, caller ID, call forwarding, and international calling. Its internet business includes in-home Wi-Fi routers, managed wireless service, community Wi-Fi, mobile internet, and virus and spyware protection tools. For business customers, Charter delivers internet access, data networking, fiber links to cell towers and office buildings, video entertainment, and telephone service, while also selling advertising on cable and digital platforms and operating regional sports and news channels.
