About HP

HP makes personal computers, laptops, workstations, thin clients, mobile devices for business, retail point-of-sale systems, displays and related peripherals, alongside printers, printing supplies and print services. It also provides supporting software, technical support and other services tied to these products. The company is known for combining computing hardware with imaging and printing offerings under one roof.

The business runs through three divisions. Personal Systems covers computing hardware and its associated software and support. Printing covers printer hardware, supplies and print solutions for both everyday users and commercial accounts. Corporate Investments houses HP Labs along with new business incubation and other investment activity. Customers include individual buyers, small and medium-sized businesses, and larger organizations across government, healthcare and education.

HP traces its roots to 1939 as Hewlett-Packard Company, taking its current name in October 2015. It is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, and its shares are listed on the NYSE under the ticker HPQ.
