What they said
Enterprise Products Partners reported a strong second quarter 2026 with record operational and financial results driven by elevated global demand for U.S. energy in April and May. Management reported record EBITDA of $2.8 billion (up 17% y/y), adjusted cash flow from operations of $2.5 billion (up 19% y/y), and 1x coverage of distributions. Pipeline volumes rose 8% and marine terminal volumes rose 33% y/y, with system throughput near 14.7 million boe/d and 2.8 million bpd handled across docks. Natural gas processing inlet volumes reached 8.1 Bcf/d, and the Permian inlet grew 14% y/y to 4.3 Bcf/d. The company approved additional Midland Basin processing capacity (Plant 11) and is commissioning Neches River NGL marine terminal expansion ahead of schedule. Capital deployment remained elevated: Q2 capex was $1.2 billion (including $1.0B growth and $140M sustaining), and 12-month buybacks totaled $404M bringing cumulative buyback utilization to 34% of the $5B program. The declared distribution increased to $0.56/unit for Q2 (2.8% y/y). Management highlighted strong contracting (c.90% contracted LPG export capacity), ongoing commercial discussions for pipelines (ATEX) and downstream optionality, and continued demand for Haynesville and Gulf Coast export infrastructure. While management reiterated modest EBITDA growth expectations initially set for 2026 and the potential for ~10% EBITDA growth into 2027 driven by volumes, they flagged volatility from the Middle East conflict and commodity/differential normalization as uncertainties.
Guidance
Declared distribution: $0.56 per common unit for Q2 2026 (to be paid Aug 14). 2026 expected gross capital expenditures net to $2.9 billion to $3.4 billion after applying approximately $600 million in proceeds from asset sales already received. Management expects discretionary free cash flow to approach ~$1 billion for the year. Commentary that 2027 growth CapEx could trend toward ~$3 billion, with ~80%+ of that level already spoken for (sanctioned/announced projects). Prior commentary: potential for ~10% EBITDA growth into 2027 driven by volumes (not commodity-driven).
Risks flagged
Uncertainty and volatility from the Middle East conflict affecting demand and commodity/differential levels; potential temporary normalization of strong cash differentials that benefited Q2 (previous outperformance ~ $200 million); risk of near-term overbuild in LPG export capacity leading to lower terminal fees/volatility; Waha basis volatility impacting Permian gas economics and shut-in volumes; competitive processing capacity coming online in the Permian; tariff/rate reset risk on ATEX; operational downtime risk (PDH minor issues) and general commodity price risk.
