Tandem Diabetes Care builds and sells devices for people worldwide who depend on insulin to manage diabetes. Its main product is the t:slim X2 insulin delivery system, a pump platform made up of the pump itself, a 300-unit disposable insulin cartridge, and an infusion set. The system can run added features such as Basal-IQ and Control-IQ technology and G5 Integration, giving users more automated ways to track and adjust their insulin delivery.
Beyond the pump, the company supports users with software tools: the Tandem Device Updater lets patients update their pump remotely, while t:connect gathers data from the pump, continuous glucose monitors, and compatible blood glucose meters into one web-based view for patients, caregivers, and clinicians. It also offers the Sugarmate app for insulin users. Tandem works with Dexcom and Abbott Laboratories on developing and bringing its technology to market.
The company was founded in 2006 under the name Phluid Inc. and took the Tandem Diabetes Care name in January 2008. It is headquartered in San Diego, California, and its shares are listed on the NASDAQ under the ticker TNDM.
