AI summary

Genmab hits a new 52-week high this week, trading as high as $35.66, with shares last closing at $35.36. The move follows commentary from investor relations head Andrew Carlsen that the company expects a pivotal fourth quarter, with Phase III readouts planned for three late-stage oncology programs viewed as potential first-in-class opportunities. Separately, the company granted 13,794 restricted stock units and 13,331 warrants to employees as part of its long-term incentive programs, and at least one outside assessment described the stock as fairly valued following its recent gain, citing a P/E of 26.5x near the biotech sector average.

At $35.36, the stock sits above both its 50-day average of $32.15 and 200-day average of $29.56, with the shorter average above the longer one, a trend picture that remains supportive. The GekkoIndex reads 47.5, placing it in the Neutral zone. Price stands 12.7% above Gekko Fair Value of $31.38.

The next earnings date falls on 5 November, 37 days out and beyond a typical 20-day holding window. No insider, Congress, or unusual options activity appears in the current windows. Seasonality over the next 20 trading days has averaged +0.3% across 5 years, rising in 2 of them. With three Phase III readouts anticipated in the fourth quarter, near-term newsflow around those trial results bears watching.

About Genmab

Genmab works in biopharmaceuticals, focusing on discovering and developing antibody-based treatments, mainly for cancer along with a handful of other serious conditions. It is known for its marketed antibody therapies, including a treatment for multiple myeloma and related blood cancers, one for thyroid eye disease, one used in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and multiple sclerosis, another for certain gastric, esophageal and lung cancers, and one aimed at cervical and ovarian cancers and other solid tumors.

Beyond its approved products, Genmab runs a wide pipeline of experimental antibodies at various clinical stages, targeting solid tumors and blood cancers, alongside roughly twenty early pre-clinical programs. Much of this work is carried out through partnerships rather than alone, with agreements covering commercialization and co-development, mRNA-based antibody research, and other joint development deals with several pharmaceutical and biotech partners.

Genmab was established in 1999 and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Its shares trade under the ticker GMAB.

What they said
Genmab First Half 26 earnings call: Management presented strong financial and pipeline progress. Revenue grew 25% year-over-year, driven by product momentum (particularly Epkinly and Darzalex) and integration of Merus. Epkinly (EPKINLY) sales increased 48% to $312M for H1, showing accelerated uptake in community settings and across indications. Key pipeline developments: positive Phase III EPCORE DLBCL-4 PFS results for epcoritamab combinations; European approval for TEPKINLY plus lenalidomide and rituximab in second-line FL; initiation of two Phase III petosemtamab trials in colorectal cancer (frontline and second-line) and ongoing Phase III trials in head and neck cancer; Rina-S (fotivda?) program progressing with Phase II/III readouts planned in PROC and endometrial/ovarian expansion; strong conviction in petosemtamab as best-in-class EGFR bispecific vs amivantamab. Management emphasized disciplined capital allocation, integration of Merus, tax rate dynamics due to integration, and increased adjusted operating profit by 18%. Guidance updated for 2026 (details cut off in transcript) and effective tax rate expected to normalize in 12-18 months. Q&A covered timing and design of multiple Phase III readouts (EPKINLY frontline DLBCL interim in Q4; Peto frontline interim in Q4; Peto second-line OS readout in Q1 2027; Rina-S Phase II/III PROC readouts in Q4), differentiation vs competitors, IP/patent strategy, commercialization readiness, and trial enrollment/power/upsize decisions. Tone: confident and positive with measured caution around timing and data maturity.
Guidance
Updated 2026 financial guidance discussed; transcript cuts off before specific updated numbers are included. Management updated 2026 guidance but no explicit numeric guidance is present in provided segments.
Risks flagged
Possible timing delays for trial readouts (some readouts shifted, e.g., petosemtamab second-line OS to Q1 2027); uncertainties in overall survival maturity for DLBCL-4; competitive landscape (amivantamab, J&J, others in EGFR bispecifics and folate receptor ADCs); regulatory uncertainty regarding which trial will serve as confirmatory; tax rate fluctuations during Merus integration; general clinical and development risks noted in opening operator remarks.
