About Hormel Foods

Hormel Foods develops, prepares and supplies a wide range of meat, nut and other food products for retailers, foodservice operators, delis and commercial customers both in the United States and abroad. The company is widely recognized for a broad lineup of packaged and prepared foods sold under names such as SKIPPY, SPAM, Hormel, Applegate, Justin's, Jennie-O, Planters and Corn Nuts, among others, covering everything from fresh and frozen meats to canned goods, snack nuts, salsas and ready-to-eat meals.

The business is organized into four segments: Grocery Products, Refrigerated Foods, Jennie-O Turkey Store, and International & Other. It processes and markets both branded and unbranded pork, beef, poultry and turkey items, along with nutritional foods, supplements, dessert and beverage mixes, and industrial gelatin. Products reach the market through a combination of internal sales staff, independent brokers and outside distributors.

Hormel Foods traces its origins to 1891, when it was established as Geo. A. Hormel & Company, later adopting its current name in 1995. The company is headquartered in Austin, Minnesota, and its shares are listed on the NYSE under the ticker HRL.
